The title refers to Johann Sebastian Bach’s beloved minuet Anna Magdalena, which he wrote for his wife… … … Chan Kar-fu (Takeshi Kaneshiro) is a piano tuner. One day he is asked to adjust a piano for a young woman and he bumps into her boyfriend wandering would-be novelist Yau Muk-yan (Aaron Kwok) who is about to dump her. Yau Muk-yan is without a job and a place to live and forces himself on the somewhat naive Chan Kar-fu and ends up staying permanently in his apartment. Yau and Chan are two completely different people who surprisingly get along very well. Soon both men get fascinated by their new neighbor, a young beautiful woman (Kelly Chen) who spends her free time playing the piano.
