• Summary:

  A sick Tsuji Michiko (Ito Ran) eventually tries to get her son Jiro (Kiritani Kenta) to meet the legendary male houkan Umetsugu (Nomura Matasaburo) who used to be with the geisha house Notomo in Gifu Prefecture. (A houkan is a professional male entertainer. It appears that such entertainers who served Toyotomi Hideyoshi were called otogishu. At that time, male geishas were later called houkan or taikomochi. Together with the geiko and maiko, they were essential to traditional entertainment at banquets. But over time, their numbers have gradually dwindled. There is now one houkan in Gifu and several others active nationwide.) Michiko was born in Gifu but moved to Nagoya when Jiro was 4 years old. Learning that Umetsugu appears to be his father, Jiro searches for the missing Umetsugu in Gifu.
