    One day, a suspicious-looking audio CD is delivered to Shiroyama Kyosuke, the company president of Hinode Beer, the industry’s top brewer. Shiroyama is shaken by the contents which pin the company down for its past misdeeds. Meanwhile, Monoi Seizo, the owner of a small pharmacy; Handa Shuhei, a detective who hates the police organisation; Fukawa Junichi, a truck driver with a special needs child; Matsudo Yokichi, a lathe operator; and Takashi Katsumi, a credit association employee who are buddies who met at the horse race track, set a plan in motion. Monoi has thought of stealing large sums of money from a big corporation and targets the closely linked Hinode Beer. Meanwhile, Detective Goda Yuichiro and his colleagues investigate a report that Shiroyama failed to return home. When they rush to Shiroyama’s residence, they find a written memo saying, “The company president is in our custody”. But Shiroyama is soon released. The criminal group that calls itself Lady Joker hints that it has tampered with 3.5 kilolitres of beer and demands 2 billion yen from Shiroyama…

    Inspired by the works of Nobel Prize winner Yamanaka Shinya, comes a medical suspense drama that focuses on the cutting-edge medical technology. Set in the infamous Institute of Biomedical Research and Innovation hospital (IBRI), it tells the story of a medical team, that is made up of doctors from different fields of expertise, age-group and career aspirations. They are the last hope for all the terminally ill patients who are sent there. 「What does it mean to live?」, 「What does it mean to save a patient?」 and 「How far is one supposed to go in the name of medical care?」. These are the questions that trouble the team, as they slowly grow as an individual and as a team, helping each other overcome their complexes and their past.

    Hatano Takumi is a qualified GP, and had thought of taking over his father’s family practise. However, his father has other plans for him, and recommended him to join IBRI instead. Takumi is excellent at diagnosing a patient’s illness, but he is considered an eccentric, due to his habit of dropping everything to have a snack on-the-dot at 3 o’clock. Unbeknownst to himself, he actually carries a secret from when he was a kid. When that secret is exposed, what will happen to Takumi? –Fuji TV

    The hero, Hyakkimaru (Satoshi Tsumabuki) is a wandering “demon hunter” whose extra body parts — 48 to be exact — were grafted onto his head and trunk by a herb doctor (Yoshio Harada) who discovered him as an infant, in a process that echoes “Frankenstein” and “The Island of Dr. Moreau.” His warlord father (Kiichi Nakai) gave the originals to 48 demons in exchange for power. When Hyakkimaru kills a demon, he wins back a body part.

    He is spotted in one of these battles, with a giant spider demon, by Dororo (Kou Shibasaki), a scrappy female thief who is fascinated by not only Hyakkimaru’s prowess with the sword blade poking out of his arm but the new leg he grows after dicing his opponent. Is he a man — or a monster? After hearing his story from an old minstrel, she decides to join him on his travels and find out for herself.

    Dororo dresses, talks and swaggers like a guy, but she obviously has more than a matey interest in this strange, fearsome but good-looking bionic warrior. It is an interest that she hides with a bluster that makes the grim-visaged Hyakkimaru smile. What really bonds them, however, are their various battles with demons. Dororo proves herself a fearless ally — if one inclined to get into trouble at awkward moments. But Hyakkimaru decides he must go it alone when he finally encounters his most relentless enemy, his own father. Meanwhile, Dororo realizes that her pal is the son of the man who killed her father and left her an orphan. Is this end of a beautiful friendship?

    Sachiko Yamaoka (Kana Kurashina) works at a hotel in downtown Toba, Japan. She is pregnant. Her lover Hisashi Narumi (Yuta Hiraoka) tells her that he wants to go back to Toshi island and become a fisherman. Without telling him that she is pregnant, Sachiko visits Toshi Island.

    Sachiko is introduced to his parents Genzo Iwanami (Masaomi Kondo) and Sugimoto (Megumi Igarashi). Sachiko is embarrassed by the hospitality shown by Hisashi’s sister-in-law, Nagiko (Miho Shiraishi) and his friends. At this time, Sachiko meets Miho Hamamoto (Asami Usuda). Miho movied to Toshi island and married, but Miho can’t adapt to life on the island as well as her husband Akira (Ryohei Abe). Sachiko begins to worry if she can live as the wife of a fisherman.

    “The Foreign Duck, the Native Duck and God in a Coin Locker” unfolds over the course of six action-packed days, with flashbacks. On the first Shiina (Gaku Hamada), a freshmen at a university in Sendai, moves into a new apartment. A Bob Dylan fan, he is singing “Blowin’ in the Wind” to himself when he is greeted by his new neighbor, Kawasaki (Eita). Being imposingly tall and having an air of confidence, Kawasaki is the polar opposite of the short, nervous, but somehow determined Shiina, but he announces himself as another Dylan fan. Dylan’s singing, Kawasaki proclaims, is like “the voice of God.”

    Soon Kawasaki is taking Shiina into not only his apartment, but his confidence. He tells his new friend he wants to steal a Kojien dictionary for another neighbor — an exchange student from Bhutan — and needs Shiina’s help. He also gives Shiina a warning that sounds as loopy as his plan: Beware the owner of a nearby pet shop, the sexy but dangerous Reiko (Nene Otsuka).

    If Shiina were smart, he would run in the opposite direction, but instead he finds himself drawn irresistibly into Kawasaki’s orbit. The next day, Kawasaki confesses to Shiina that he is the former lover of Kotomi (Megumi Seki), a girl who once worked at Reiko’s shop, but threw him over for the Bhutanese. So what is his motive for helping the guy? While puzzling this over, Shiina agrees to help Kawasaki with his seemingly absurd robbery, standing guard outside a bookshop’s back door with a replica pistol.

    The film opens on the night of 30 April to 1 May 1994 in Chungking House, a mazelike commercial complex in Hong Kong. A Chinese woman in a blond wig is busily trying to stash some heroine among the belongings of a group of Pakistanis hired to slip the drugs out of the country. May 1 also marks an entire month since police office No. 223 got dumped by his girlfriend. He swears he’s going to fall in love with the first girl who walks through the door: it turns out to be the blond drug smuggler….A fast-food restaurant where Faye, a young tomboy, listens to the hit pop song “California Dreaming”. Another policeman, a regular costumer, has just lost his girlfriend, who has deposited his apartment key at the restaurant. Faye intercepts the key and secretly lets herself into the cop’s apartment and proceeds to upset his domestic order.
