Summary:
Cynthia (Zhang Ziyi) and a Japanese student, Itami (Tôru Nakamura), have fallen in love in Japanese controlled Manchukuo prior to the war when Itami is forced to return to Japan.

Years later, in Shanghai, Szeto (Liu Ye) and Tang Yiling (Li Bingbing) have fallen in love. Cynthia has also returned to Shanghai now as a member of Purple Butterfly, a powerful resistance group against the Japanese occupation, led by Xie Ming (Feng Yuanzheng). After a case of mistaken identity and a shootout at a railroad station that leaves Yiling dead, Szeto finds himself an unexpected pawn in the battle between former lovers Cynthia and Itami who has also come to Shanghai, now as a member of the Japanese secret police unit tasked with dismantling Purple Butterfly.

Summary:
Sonoko (Norika Fujiwara) is a reporter at JBS TV, but her passion for reporting is dwindling. She hears from a former source that Shindou (Atsuro Watabe), who killed his wife and child in the U.S, has now come back to Japan and is planning a revenge murder. Based on that information, Sonoko locates Shindou’s home and begins staking out his home with her colleague Nomura (Kento Nagayama). Shindou works at a meat factory and doesn’t seem to associate with others. He doesn’t look suspicious, but Nomura notices a listening device is set up in Shindou’s home.

Meanwhile, the local media reports a high number of female high schools who has yet to experience their first menstruation. Media reports suggests that the cause may be a dioxin leak from a garbage furnace.

Summary:
Do criteria exist for the death penalty? Mito Yusuke, a law faculty lecturer who did not become a lawyer even though he passed the bar exam, the famous lawyer Otomo Kojiro who advocates the abolition of the death penalty, and the public prosecutor Nagase Mariko studied law together. Each have their own thoughts about the death penalty. One day, Otomo’s wife is murdered by someone. Sabae Shinzo who is resentful of a lawsuit that Otomo had been in charge of, is arrested as a suspect. Otomo reverses the stance he had had until now and seeks the death penalty against Sabae. This prompts Mito to make the decision to become a lawyer and stand in the court. Summary:
Based on the serialised novel by Shinno Takeshi, Apoyan tells the story of the people behind every overseas trip. From the travel agents to the people working at the airport.

Endo Keita works for JALPAK, and was based at the Head Office, in charge of the overseas packages’ projects. One day, he was suddenly ordered to transfer to Narita Airport. It was a well-known fact within the company that the non-performers were sent to work the counters at Narita, where the duties of one were just to serve the incoming and outgoing travelers. This made Endo realise that the management probably sees him as useless, unable to contribute to the sales increase for the company. As he had joined the company with the sole desire to create tour packages, Endo became really depressed and started entertaining thoughts of leaving the company.

On his first day at work in Narita, Endo is shocked by the persona of his manager, Imaizumi Toshio, who seems like a totally useless guy, smiling foolishly all the time. His staff are mostly women, and one of them, Morio Haruko is downright hostile to him. The only one who seems to show any kindness to him is Baba Hanae. Endo tries his best at his new role, hoping that he will soon be transferred back to his old job at the Head Office. From 「as long as the customers depart」 to 「let the customers depart with a smile」, Endo slowly learns to be passionate about his new job, through helping all the customers resolve their troubles prior to their departure. –TBS

Summary:
The story centers around a sixteen-year-old girl (Ayumi Ito) whose mother has just died. The girl is passed on from person to person until she is taken in by a Chinese Yentowns prostitute named Glico (Chara), who names her Ageha (Japanese for swallowtail). Under Glico’s care, Ageha starts a new life. The immigrant characters, who speak Japanese, English, Mandarin, or Cantonese, earn their living by committing petty crimes and engaging in prostitution. Ageha does not participate in any of these activities, but is protected by Glico and the other immigrants. The film does not make clear whether Ageha is Japanese or an Asian immigrant.
